Hey Falcon Nation!

We need your help. The Firestone Athletic Department in cooperation with our new Firestone Falcons All Sports Booster Club (FFASB) is trying to raise the necessary funding to upgrade our new athletic field at Firestone CLC. The goal is to get field turf installed where we could play home soccer matches, football games, and a polyurethane track surface where we could run track meets. We are trying to make this into a first class facility for the community and our student athletes. The Firestone Field Project has already raised approximately $85,000 of which $40,000 was spent to upgrade from a cinder track to asphalt which is the necessary step before polyurethane. There is much more to be done and we currently do not have the funds to do it.

We have recently enlisted the help of Ward 8 Councilwoman Marilyn Keith. She has requested a list of alumni and their contact e-mails so she can set into motion a fundraising process to accomplish our goals. Firestone has an incredible and successful alumni list. If we can tap those resources this project becomes reality.

We are doing and have already done some great things in just one year. We recently raised $30,000 for a complete weight room upgrade at Firestone named Falcon Fitness Center. Our student athletes now have one of the best high school training rooms in the area. We also started the new Firestone Athletics Hall of Fame where we inducted our inaugural class of Jeff Merrow Class of 1971, Trenton Lykes Class of 1983, Brad Jackson Class of 1993, Mark Gangloff Class of 2000, and Jonathan Kountis Class of 2006. We also have started an annual golf outing called the Falcon Athletics Golf Outing and an annual reverse raffle. This year’s golf outing will be Saturday 8-3-19 at Chippewa Golf Club.
